Janeane Garofalo stars in the satirical film, "Bad Parents"

Introducing the “Bad Parents”

“You guys are like tiny, shiny diamonds. But unfortunately, some of you are gonna need to be cut.”

This is just one of Christopher Titus’s gems from Bad Parents, an upcoming comedy about parents who take their kids’ sports too seriously. In the movie, a non-sporty mom played by Janeane Garofalo finds herself amidst insanity when she registers her daughter in a soccer league dictated by a highly competitive coach and his flock of overzealous parents.

The film looks funny enough, but its satire speaks to a truth most moms and dads know all too well: “win at all costs” sports parents can ruin the experience for the kids. In pressuring their kids to make the ‘A’ team, expecting wins, making the experience about themselves and even getting too friendly with the obsessive win-first coach, this group of parents model exactly how not to be a sport parent.
