Active for Life is proud to announce that on Friday September 18, our editor-in-chief, Richard Monette, will be a guest speaker at the Bow Valley Sport Summit. Also appearing is Beckie Scott, 2002 Olympic Gold Medalist.
While the parents and coaches learn about physical literacy, kids age 6 to 12 will be having fun and working on their own physical literacy skills with Shannon Fox, a physical literacy specialist.
The Summit continues on Saturday, September 19, with a breakout session for hockey coaches. The clinic will focus on ice skills and coaching with Dean Holden and the Canmore Eagles. In another session, Shannon Fox does some physical literacy training with coaches, parents, and teachers.
Lunch is accompanied by a keynote speech from Daniel Lefebvre, the director of education and sport development at Winsport, and will be followed by a NCCP fundamental movement skills course with physical literacy consultant Lea Norris.
If you’re a parent, coach, or teacher in the Canmore/Banff area, register for this summit and learn how to help your own child, or the children you work with, improve their movement skills while having fun.
