There is still time to join the over 185,000 students participating in The Canada Games Activity Challenge. Teachers and principals can sign up for the last module which runs May 1-31, 2017.

“We’re thrilled that kids in every province and territory across the nation have signed up for our Activity Challenge and have begun to develop their physical literacy,” says Tom Quinn, Canada Games Council Chairman. “The healthy habits that are formed through this initiative are sure to benefit these kids for years to come.”

The Canada Games Activity Challenge is interactive and engages students through gamification, which motivates them to participate in physical activity every day, supporting habit-forming behaviour. Students gain experience (XP) points with every completed activity, leading to rewards and chances to win prizes.

Students and classrooms can earn the following rewards:

  • As students gain XP points they will also earn Canada Games Coins that can be spent in the Activity Challenge online store. With coins, they can purchase accessories and customize their online character. This is all accessed through each student’s secure online profile.
  • Throughout the modules, classes will unlock videos from great Canadian leaders. Videos will be delivered via a regular newsletter to teachers and parents.
  • All students who have completed in the program and completed a module will receive a certificate of completion from the Right Honourable Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada.
  • The grand prize is a free trip to Winnipeg for the 2017 Canada Summer Games, managed by American Express Global Business Travel.

If your child isn’t yet taking part in the challenge, it’s not too late to join in the fun, start earning rewards, and have a chance to win prizes. Teachers can register before Module 3 kicks off on May 1, 2017.
