Make memories and build skills with these fun childhood experiences

In this article by CBC Parents, the ultimate play bucket list is filled with experiences that every child should have before their teenage years. From paddling a canoe to building a fort, children are challenged with 24 ways to play, rain or shine.

Some of our favourites are:
#2 – Skip stones across water
#4 – Hang upside down from a tree limb
#19 – Jump in a pile of leaves
#24 – Make up a game involving a ball

And here are five more ideas to add to the list that are both fun and help kids develop physical literacy:

  • Organize a game of street hockey with the neighbours
  • Rollerblade around the block
  • Play a classic (or modified) game of tag
  • Launch off a swing onto the playground
  • Bowl a strike

With summer holidays just around the corner, what will your kids be checking off their bucket list?
