Foreign volleyball film proves sports keeps you young at heart

If Active for Life were to get into the movie-making business, we’d want to craft a film that embodied all the values and ideas we promote on our site: the importance of daily physical activity and skill development, no gender or age limitations, and the importance of being a player for life.

We’d include a bit on how competition can be friendly, and good for the soul, showing, of course, that in the end having fun and being active is what keeps one young and happy. And we’d cast George Clooney in the lead, because, well, that’s just a smart business decision.

Clooney aside, our dream movie has already been made, and it’s better than we could have hoped for.

This documentary is about two volleyball teams competing against each other. But the teams are made up of players well past their 80s, and the competition pits females against males. It’s funny, moving, truthful, and inspiring. For us, that’s worthy of a gold statue. Check out this hilarious trailer and see for yourself:
