Meet Alex Harvey, cross-country skier
Alex Harvey is a cross-country skier from Quebec who has been competing since 2005 and represented Canada in the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics. His father is Pierre Harvey who also competed for Canada in the 1976 Olympics for cycling and the 1988 Olympics for cross-country skiing. Alex has won a number of medals including two golds, one silver, and two bronzes in World Championships and a gold, silver, and bronze in Nordic Junior World Championships.
Fun facts about Alex
- After he is done competing in the Olympics he plans to practice law.
- He won the 50km world championship in Lahti, Finland in March 2017. This is the sport’s toughest competition and Harvey became the first North American to win it since the competition began in 1925.
