Team Canada will be led by Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir at PyeongChang 2018

Last week, the Canadian Olympic Committee announced that ice dancers Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir will be the flag bearers as Team Canada enters the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Stadium during the Opening Ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games.

The news came just after the pair earned a perfect score in the free dance competition at the Canadian National Figure Skating Championship in Vancouver. They were named Canadian ice dance champions for the eighth time.

Virtue told Paula Nichols that “It’s a privilege to fly the flag together as a united country and celebrate everything that makes Canada so special and it’s a responsibility we don’t take lightly. We have to embody those Olympic values and we hope to make the country proud.”

Virtue and Moir are strong medal contenders at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games.
